JERSEY TIPS
When the sun shines, don’t miss out,
Find the warmth, go roam about!
A beach lies calm where winds don’t ride,
Just head around the other side!
TRAVEL
Many airlines fly to Jersey. Check out Easy Jet, Blue Islands, British Airways deals. DFDS operates ferries from Poole and Portsmouth.
JERSEY BUS
Central bus station is in St. Helier. Day passes are a great way to see the island, with bus routes to most beauty spots.
ON YER BIKE
Hire bikes in St. Helier, or in St Aubin. E-bikes advised - lots of hills! Look out for ‘green lanes’ - walkers and cyclists have right of way. There is a nice flat cycle track along the seafront from St., Aubin to St. Helier.
CLOSED ON SUNDAY
Most shops are closed on Sundays, including many supermarkets.
DRIVING TIPS
Everything is 20minutes away but avoid rush hour! Drive on the left. Speed limit is 40mph maximum. A ’filter in turn’ sign means take it in turns. Parking tickets (paycards) available from shops.

THE VENUE
_edited.png)
The central farmhouse known as Elms Farm was built by the De Gruchy family in 1797. The working farm was initially devoted to apple trees. In later years the farm ran into disrepair until in 1968 a local family, the Blayney’s reversed its fortunes. In 1972 the first vine was planted and since then the Estate has matured and developed into a six acre commercial vineyard, distillery and popular wedding and events venue.

We chose La Mare as our wedding venue because the old farm house is has real Jersey vibes, we can get married outside, it is close Grev de Lecq beach (which is special to us), you can see the sea, the back-story resonates with us, it is safe and fun for the kids, and of course - we love our wine!

Gifting
Your presence is the greatest gift, no more than that do we request.
We know you’ve travelled far and wide, to join our day as groom and bride.
But should you wish to show you care, a gift to Hospice would be rare.
In memory of those who can’t be here, we’ll hold their love and presence near.

Honeymoon
After spending a couple of nights at St. Brelades Bay Hotel, we are setting off for France in our camper van. We are heading down the west coast and hope to get down to Landes within a day or two for sun, sea, surf and sand!
Before we head off on our travels, we are hoping to spend the day on the beach on Monday 4th August. You are welcome to join us - we will let you all know which one at the wedding!

You can donate to the honey moon pot here (but please don't feel you must!)
